Do you remember the first time you fed your little one solids?
Mealtime is a pretty big occasion for parents and baby.
I remember that special moment like it was yesterday! My husband and I captured this milestone on video for both my kids (something I watch often). Kitana and Kiaan really enjoyed their first meal but after that… mealtime went downhill.
Kitana was such a fussy baby; feeding time was always a struggle with her especially since she had a milk allergy and lacked iron.
The pediatrician advised us to put Kiaan on a vitamin for iron too since Kitana had this problem and it’s something that many of my family members on my mom’s side struggle with.
Nestlé recently introduced an iron calculator which helps you calculate if your little one is getting enough iron in their current diet.
Did you know that your baby needs over 5 times more IRON than you?
Nestlé Start Strong Stay Strong is a growing infant nutrition brand in South Africa and renowned globally. It provides support and advice to parents about the first 1000 days of a baby’s life – from conception to their 2nd birthday. You can find value information and awesome recipes on their website – www.startstrong.nestle.co.za.
My son Kiaan needs loads of entertainment during mealtime. My mom always teases that we need to start paying people to entertain him.
For moms, a lot of effort goes into all aspects of mothering, from helping baby reach developmental milestones, to getting that one spoon into baby’s stomach. Mom and Dad will do whatever it takes – coaxing and role-playing, with most of the food going everywhere but the desired target.
Trying to feed Kiaan while he gets distracted by the million things around him (is this a boy thing?) is like climbing mount Everest! I’m climbing up the mountain slowly but I feel like I’m not getting anywhere!
That’s why Nestlé makes sure a lot goes into each portion of their cereals that Mom eventually manages to feed into baby’s mouth.
Nestlé CERELAC® baby cereal with milk tastes yummy (I tried it too) and are so easy to make – perfect for those hectic mornings. All Nestlé CERELAC® products already contain milk, so just add water to provide a delicious meal for your baby from 6 months onwards.
Whether your baby is on breast milk, a hypoallergenic or lactose-free formula, Nestlé NESTUM® is the appropriate choice as any baby milk* can be added. Nestlé NESTUM® baby cereals are available in 3 stages, to make it easy for you to choose the most appropriate meal for your little one.
Mealtime is lots more fun when there are loads of textures and flavors involved!
Have you ever considered recording yourself on video to see the weird things you do and say to get your little one to eat?
Maybe this is a video you can relate to… I know, I can. It made me chuckle a bit and reminded me of those special moments with Kitana and Kiaan.
5 things Moms do to get their babies to eat:
1. Weird sounds
I know the common one is:
“Here’s come the choo-choo train”. Choooo-Choooo
2. Silly dances
Did you ever put on Trace… flap your arms, roll your head and let your hair go crazy? Haha, Guilty! My son enjoyed the show AND finished all his cereal. 😉
3. Peek-ka-boo
Where’s the baby? Here’s the baby!
4. Funny faces
I’m sure you did the monkey face more than once!
5. Singing
Incy Wincy spider climbing up the spout…
Down came the rain and washed the spider out…
Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain….
And Incy Wincy spider climbed up the spout again….
Repeat x 5

This is the best contest ever! I love pictures of babies making funny faces.
This is a great giveaway, and I love the whole pictures of feeding the baby thing. Funny faces are the best.
Oh my goodness, I remember when my twins were babies I’ve done all those funny and crazy things too! This is a great giveaway, Nestle is such a great brand!
I remember doing some of these when my girls were little. I think most of us have done at least one of these. It works though!
I did the “airplane” thingy in feeding my son before. Guess you know what I’m talking about. 🙂 It was fun!
My son is ALWAYS distracted. Especially if his sister is in the room. Its to the point where she cant even be around him when he’s eating. lol
But it works most of the times right? I have a 3 month old boy now and I actually can’t wait to perform those silly antics to make him eat! hahaha
Dont forget to add beg and plead to your list. Ha ha! I am glad my little one is at an age where she loves food now.
I used to make faces at my kids to get them to eat. It made them laugh and then they would want to eat.

Copper scrap reclamation projects In recent years, there has been a growing interest in developing sustainable methods for the conversion of CO2 into value-added fuels and chemicals. One promising approach involves the use of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), which are porous materials composed of metal ions connected by organic ligands. In a recent study published in the journal Nature, researchers reported the development of a cooperative copper centre in a MOF for the selective conversion of CO2 to ethanol. The team designed and synthesized a modified form of the MOF HKUST-1, which contains copper ions coordinated to pyridine ligands. Using a combination of spectroscopic and computational techniques, the researchers found that the copper centres in this MOF were highly cooperative, meaning that they worked together to facilitate the conversion of CO2 to ethanol. The researchers demonstrated that the cooperative copper centres were capable of selectively converting CO2 to ethanol with high efficiency and selectivity, even in the presence of other gases such as nitrogen and methane. The team also investigated the mechanism underlying the CO2 conversion reaction, and found that it involves the formation of a copper-carboxylate intermediate that is stabilized by adjacent copper ions. This cooperativity between the copper centres allows the intermediate to be efficiently converted to ethanol. The development of this cooperative copper centre in a MOF represents a significant advance in the field of CO2 conversion, as it offers a promising approach for the selective synthesis of value-added chemicals from CO2. The study also highlights the potential of MOFs as platforms for the design of efficient and selective catalysts for a range of chemical transformations Metal distribution center Copper scrap environmental regulations Exporting Copper scrap Copper scrap management solutions Copper scrap shipping Metal scrap reclamation
Copper scrap brokerage There are definitive federal guidelines and standards that apply to copper usage in various industries. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is responsible for regulating the use and discharge of copper in the environment. The EPA has set standards for copper concentrations in drinking water, wastewater, and surface water. According to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), the EPA has established a Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for copper in drinking water of 1.3 milligrams per liter (mg/L). Additionally, the Clean Water Act (CWA) requires industrial facilities to control their discharge of pollutants, including copper, into municipal wastewater treatment plants. The EPA has established National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits for discharges from specific industries that limit the amount of copper and other pollutants that can be discharged. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) also has standards for copper exposure in the workplace. OSHA’s Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) for copper dusts and fume is 0.1 milligrams per cubic meter of air (mg/mВі) for an 8-hour workday. In the construction industry, the Copper Development Association (CDA) has developed guidelines for the design and installation of copper plumbing systems. The CDA’s Copper Tube Handbook outlines best practices for the installation of copper plumbing systems, including recommended soldering techniques. In the electrical industry, the National Electrical Code (NEC) provides standards and guidelines for the use of copper conductors, cables, and wiring systems in electrical installations, including building wiring, overhead power lines, and underground cables. Overall, federal guidelines and standards for copper are in place to protect public health, the environment, and workers in various industries.
