Magaliesburg is one of my favourite getaway spots, a very relaxed town. Vije and I decided to really test the skills of the Volvo XC60… well honestly I think it’s the best way to review a car of this calibre. On our way, we giggled to Vije’s stupid jokes and sang along to the tunes on the radio to keep Kitana entertained. I felt like I was sitting in luxury, the car is beautiful inside and out.
Let’s talk about the features that Volvo offers which makes traveling long distance easier:
Please note the vehicle I reviewed did not include everything listed below.
1. Comfort
The car offers a variety of accessories to make traveling luxury.
- It offers sensus connected touch (Control multimedia from screen and steering wheel).
- You can add rear seat entertainment (LCDs with DVD players).
- Electric cooler and heater box, keep your drinks cold in the load compartment, this can be used as a hot box to keep food warm. This connects to the power outlet in the load compartment and is secured with mounting straps.
- Heated seats was a big bonus for us during our travel to Magaliesburg especially during early morning drives.
- Navigate with a built-in GPS which guides you throughout your journey.
- Luggage space can be a nightmare when traveling because baby alone has at least 2 bags, this car has a big boot making it easier to accommodate everyone’s luggage.
- I love the leg space it offers, the seats can even be reclined making long distance traveling more comfortable.
The above features alone attracts me to this brand, comfort is key when traveling long distance with a toddler.
2. Safety
Many of us forget the importance of little features in a car when traveling long distance. The XC60 is the perfect partner for making traveling safe and enjoyable.
- Volvo has a selection of car seats to allow your child to grow with the brand, we were lucky enough to get a car seat to test. Kitana loved it.
- The easily detachable mirror lets you keep a watchful eye on a child in a rearward-facing child safety seat if they’re in the back of your car.
- The door mirror auto-dimming function uses the same sensor located in your interior rear view mirror, which also dims when a following car’s headlights are too bright. This makes your journey safer and more relaxing at night.
- Cruise control allows you to drive in a more relaxed way without having to keep your foot on the accelerator. The car maintains the speed you choose until you turn off the cruise control or press the brake or accelerator.
- Park assist sensors, rear and front is activated when you reverse, rear park assist sensors help you when manoeuvring into tight spaces.
3. Travel experience
- Traveling with a toddler is never easy. Most of the time I’m sitting in the car figuring out a way to entertain my 2-year-old. You need a comfy car seat, Kitana hates the one we have. I feel horrible because it’s like such a waste. It’s a struggle to get her in and let her stay there. I was so pleased to see her enjoying Volvo’s car seat.
- Traveling at night during strong winds and winding roads can be daunting, I was relieved to see the car handled the weather and roads so well.
- The sound system is great especially with house music, Kitana danced many times during our journey.
- We enjoyed our moments in the car together, even Kitana wanted to drive. Relax we didn’t let her 🙂 …
The car offers a variety of additional features, many which I haven’t mentioned above. Volvo even has its own roadside assistance to support you in time of need.
Spending an entire week with this car made me realise the importance of features when shopping for a vehicle. Don’t just buy a car because it ‘looks’ nice. Look for a car that is designed around you and your family.
Being a mom with a growing family, I need to put my child before me and think long-term. Volvo has created the perfect mom car for me and yes it’s stylish too!
I had such a memorable experience in Magalies. The highlight of the trip was visiting the Cradle of Humankind. It was so educational for both Kitana and I.
Thank you Volvo for creating memories for my family and I. The XC60 makes me want to travel more, it’s such a pleasure to drive.
Please note many features listed above are optional and not standard.

I hear so many good things about Volvos. I would love to test drive one sometime.
I have never driven a volvo, but I’ve always heard good things about them. I love heated seats in the Winter.
Looks like an amazing car!!!! And very family friendly and super safe!!! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I’ve always loved Volvo’s. I always hear people raving about how safe they are. I currently drive a honda civic but my next year is definitely going to be a Volvo.
I had no idea that Volvo has a car seats for little ones! I’ve never owned a Volvo but love the look of this particular one!
I love volvos always have and would be to test drive it
Awesome car. Looks very safe and family friendly. I had no idea Volvo made car seats!
Looks great. I wonder if other car makers are in the car seat business.
This looks like a wonderful car. I’ve always been a big fan of Volvo. They make some of the safest cars on the market.
My really good friend has been driving the same Volvo for 15 years and there is no evidence of it wearing down; her car before that was also a Volvo. That says a lot about the quality of their products!
This looks like a really dependable car. And the perks really put it on top. I love a good heated seat as my back tends to tighten up throughout the day.
What a beautiful car! I love Volvos. It is weird seeing the steering wheel on the right hand side though.
This looks like a great car. I am currently looking for a new car. I will have to take a Volvo for a test drive.
Sounds like a great family car. I love that it has a cooler for drinks.
Looks like a very comfortable car. I love the photo of the baby in the mirror!
Such a beautiful car! My first car was a Volvo. I would love to get another one some day.
Volvo is a great family car. Very cool ride!
I love how classy this Volvo can be.
I have always loved Volvo’s. Sadly, they are not in our budget.
Volvo cars are luxurious and very good for traveling safe. When Kitana grows up and learns how to drive, for sure she’ll appreciate the car more.
Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. This Volvo sounds like a great way to travel with children indeed. There is some really great features in the vehicle like the heated seats which would be perfect for our weather. Thanks for sharing.
I know for sure volvo is a good and safe car for family. Lucky you can test drive for this awesome Volvo 😀
I know they are such safe cars! I love how they look too!
Sounds like such a great vehicle. Thanks for mentioning all the features.
For some reason when someone mentions safety, Volvo comes to mind. I’ve never had one, so I’m not sure why that is, but it’s certainly a good reputation to carry!
I have read so many freaking reviews in my life and this one is the absolutely FUNNEST! A CAR REVIEW?! Yes please.
I have to be honest. I was a Volvo hater in the 80s. Their cars were so boxy. But boy… Look at them now. This is a sweet ride! Plus, they’re the safest car on the planet.
It is fun to look at the first picture and see the steering wheel on the “wrong” side. 😉 I have never owned a Volvo, but I hear they are good cars.
Great review! My neighbor has a Volvo and loves it.
We don’t get to do a lot of travelling because we don’t drive. Hope that by next year we will have a nice car like the Volvo! It would be perfect for my little family!
I’ve always loved the look of Volvos – especially those old-style “boxy” models. I really like the interior of this vehicle…very nice upgrades.
Volvo has always been such a solid vehicle and I was really excited a few years ago when they started offering more sporty models. Looks great!
I know what my new car is going to be now. I love Volvos and I can’t wait to get this model. Thanks for the recommendation! I’m going to the dealer tomorrow morning to trade in my old model.
I loved looking at all what this car offers and reading about your experience with it. I definitely need an upgrade in my car might have to look at one of these.
My friend’s car is a Volvo – I don’t know much about automobile – but they were all raving about it lol
My parents had a Volvo when I was a child, and they absolutely loved it! I’d definitely consider purchasing one for their reliability and stellar safety ratings!

Copper scrap revenue optimization Copper, one of the earliest metals to be used by humans, has been an essential component of human civilization since the beginning of recorded history. The use of copper dates back to the Bronze Age, around 3000 BC. However, the exact timeline of the copper age is difficult to establish, as it was a gradual process and not a sudden discovery. The first evidence of copper use can be traced back to the Middle East, where copper artifacts from 4500 BC have been found. Copper was used for a range of purposes in the ancient world, including making tools, weapons, and jewelry. Copper is a relatively abundant metal that can be found in various parts of the world, but it was particularly prevalent in the Middle East, where early civilizations developed. Copper was discovered by these early civilizations as they learned to smelt ores and extract the metal from them. Copper was first used for decorative purposes, such as jewelry, but its usefulness soon extended to practical applications as well. Early copper tools and weapons were made by hammering copper into shape, but as metallurgical techniques advanced, copper was also cast into molds to create more complex shapes. As the use of copper became more widespread, different cultures developed unique methods of working with the metal. For example, in the Andes, native peoples developed the technique of alloying copper with tin to create bronze, a harder and more durable material. In Europe, the use of copper became more widespread during the Bronze Age, which lasted from around 2000 BC to 1200 BC. During this time, copper was alloyed with tin and other metals to create bronze, which was used to make tools, weapons, and ceremonial objects. The use of copper continued to expand, and by the time of the Roman Empire, copper was being used for a wide range of purposes, including plumbing, coinage, and architectural decoration. The Romans even used copper as a preservative to help keep their wine fresh. Today, copper is still used for a wide range of purposes, from electrical wiring to architectural design. The demand for copper continues to grow, and new technologies are being developed to make use of this versatile metal in even more ways. Copper’s importance in the development of human civilization cannot be overstated, and it will no doubt continue to play a vital role in our lives for years to come Scrap metal grading Value of Copper scrapCopper scrap importers Copper scrap melting procedures Copper motor recycling Certification for copper scrap buyers Scrap metal rejuvenation
Copper scrap material recovery There are several reasons why copper wire is not used as a fuse wire. Firstly, copper has a high conductivity, which means that it can easily carry a large amount of current. This is actually the opposite of what a fuse is designed to do. A fuse is intended to act as a safety device that breaks the circuit when the current exceeds a safe limit. Using copper wire would result in the wire carrying a large amount of current until it burns out, which could potentially cause damage to the circuit or cause a fire. Secondly, fuses are designed to have a specific current-carrying capacity and a specific melting point. Copper wire is not able to provide these characteristics as reliably as materials that are specifically designed for use as fuse wire. Fuses typically use materials such as aluminum, silver, or alloys that have been specially formulated to meet the necessary requirements. Finally, using copper wire as fuse wire would be a waste of resources and money. Copper is a valuable and expensive material, and using it in a way that is not appropriate for its properties would be inefficient. It is much more cost-effective to use materials that are specifically designed for use as fuse wire, as these materials are optimized for their function and are available at a lower cost Metal recycling logistics Copper strip recycling Copper scrap brokerage Copper scrap industry standards Copper scrap emissions control Scrap metal resale
