So whether it be daily routines of a social nature like getting up, getting dressed and eating breakfast, then brushing your teeth and going off to school, or perhaps the social routine of remembering to greet people by saying hello or goodbye or please and thank you or even a back to school routine after a long holiday they are all important and help our children to make important neural connections which in turn will help them all along the line later on.
I am not an advocate of strict routines though, sometimes things don’t pan out as planned so it’s important to remember not to have a total wobbly if the 8pm bedtime is suddenly moved a half hour later because the Spur took longer to bring out your food on Monday when you went for the buy one get one free burger special. These things happen and you will recover from it, just continue as per normal the next day.
So the important thing to remember when instilling a nap time routine is to also make it possible for your little to at least be able to nap in other areas not just in their own cot at home because that is never going to be entirely possible unless you fly out of a hosts home to make it back by 2pm for the afternoon nap. It’s just not practical and you entire social interaction depends on it.
I thought I would close by giving you some ideas on a possible gentle approach to a bedtime routine and the amount of time we generally give to each step of it.
This has really proven itself to work for us over the last 9 years and I can quite honestly say that I can count of one hand the amount of times we went over the 8pm bed time due to a power struggle for instance. This mainly used to become an issue in the 18 month to 2 year stage of development when the epic power struggles really begin, so having a routine already in place just makes it so much easier to keep it together and revert back to it once your little one realizes it’s actually better for them that way.
The trick is never to take too long with anything. You may find little Johnny requesting you to read the Velveteen Rabbit 5 times before finally falling asleep, and if you do, then his bed time will never ever be stable. He will soon realize he can extend his awake time by pleading “One more time please mommy?” and you do it because it’s a beautiful story after all and how can you possibly say no. So in our case one story at bedtime only.
So while we wanted routine we wanted gentle and encouraging routine and this is what we came up with.
• Dinner is usually ready to be served by 18:00 and we all eat.
• Then it’s tidy up time and the dishwasher gets packed.
• By that time I have run the bath and by 18:30pm they are all in the water.
• I give 20 minutes to bath including bath play.
• Then it’s dry off and get dressed 10 mintues for that. If we have washed hair I increase the time accordingly but never extend past 19:15.
• Then we brush teeth for 5 minutes.
• Then it’s all into bed (As we have 3 kids we pop them all in our bed and do storytime there until 8pm. Most of the time all or some of them have fallen asleep already.
• They get put into their own beds after that. Others may prefer to have their kids fall asleep in their own beds but this has just been the way it has worked best for us.
• This gives us the best possible result and the earliest bedtime. An early bedtime is imperative where there is an early start required for work and school.
This may sound quite rushed but it really isn’t. It works like a well-oiled machine and my children thrive on it.
I really hope this post encourages you to find the best routine for you and your child. You will soon see an improvement and will wonder how as a working Mom you ever got by without one.

I am ALL about the routine! I need it and so do my kids! Great points. 🙂

Copper scrap revenue optimization Copper is widely considered the best choice for electrical connectors due to its excellent conductivity, durability, and resistance to corrosion. These qualities make it a reliable choice for numerous electrical applications, from household wiring to industrial electronics. One of the primary advantages of copper as an electrical connector is its high electrical conductivity. Copper has the highest electrical conductivity of any non-precious metal, which means it can efficiently transport electrical current with minimal resistance. This is especially important for electrical applications that require high power or carry signals over long distances. In addition to its conductivity, copper is also highly durable. Copper wires and connectors are able to withstand bending, twisting, and other forms of physical stress without losing their electrical properties. This is important in applications where wires and connectors may be subject to frequent movement or vibration. Another benefit of copper as an electrical connector is its resistance to corrosion. Copper is a relatively stable metal that is resistant to many forms of corrosion, including rusting and oxidization. This makes it a reliable choice for electrical connections that may be exposed to moisture, chemicals, or environmental factors that can damage other metals. Finally, copper’s availability and affordability are also key advantages. Copper is a widely available material that can be found in various forms, from raw ore to finished products. This makes it easy to source and manufacture copper wires and connectors at a relatively low cost, making it an economical choice for many electrical applications. Overall, the combination of high conductivity, durability, resistance to corrosion, and affordability make copper the best choice for electrical connectors. Its versatility and reliability have proven it to be a key component in countless electrical systems and products throughout the world Metal recycling logistics Automation in copper scrap handling Copper rod recycling Copper scrap reclamation methods Copper scrap auctions Scrap metal material recovery
Copper scrap sustainability certification Copper naturally develops a patina or a greenish-blue layer over time because of oxidization. However, there are a few ways to slow down the process and prevent copper from turning green: 1. Clean copper regularly with a mild detergent and a soft cloth. This helps remove dust and dirt, which can speed up the oxidization process. 2. Apply a protective coating to the copper. You can use a clear lacquer or wax to seal the surface of copper and prevent it from coming in contact with air. 3. Store copper items away from humidity and dampness. Moisture can accelerate the patina formation on copper. 4. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and acids. These can damage the copper surface and lead to faster oxidation. 5. If you want to maintain the natural shine of copper, polish it regularly with a copper cleaning solution or a homemade mixture of vinegar and salt. By following these tips, you can slow down the aging process of copper and keep it looking shiny and new for longer Scrap metal certifications Copper scrap grading system Commercial copper scrap buyer Copper scrap community engagement Scrap copper prices Metal scrap recovery
