Welcome February, the month of love 😉 well thats what I call it. Vije and I are not crazy about Valentines day because we always celebrating our love and relationship. This year we decided to compile a list of things we like to do or did together to celebrate our love and relationship. Throughout the month we plan on visiting our 10 favorite places and we will be blogging and doing vlogs on our youtube page. We try to do different things together.
My 10 favourite places to visit:
Please note its in no specific order.
If you’re looking to take some time out from your busy schedule and stay within Jhb then I highly recommend this place. Hands On Retreat is a 4 star Boutique Retreat and Sleep Spa in Craighall, Johannesburg close to the Sandton and Rosebank Gautrain station, a hop away from the Hyde Park Shopping Center. The setting is a park-like garden with lots of tall trees, its own brook flowing through it and abundant bird life. They offer a variety of packages from 2 hour pampers, to ½ and full day spa treatments. You can even spend the night and get some rest with their Burnout Sleep and Spa package.
Vije and I love trying new teas so we just had to visit the Tea Merchant. This is the place to visit if you are looking for a variety of natural teas in different flavors. They have everything from loose teas to elegantly designed teapots. We visited the branch in Bryanston recently, we had so much fun trying out different flavours and eventually agreeing on a flavour we both loved.
They have something special for you this Valentines Day. Purchase anything on their online store and receive a 10% discount off orders equal or above R500. How awesome is that? Valid until 22 February. Just type in the discount code: youbabyandi when you checking out.
Soulstice Day spa has 2 branches (Pta and Jhb). We love the Jhb branch which is situated in Silverstar Casino as it is closer to home. If you’re looking for a luxury spa experince then this is the place to visit. Soulstice Day Spa personifies elegance, luxury, indulgence and a dedication to relaxation. The spa offers a wide range of treatments which are designed to give clients the ultimate experience in head-to-toe luxury and personalised attention. Facilities include a flotation tank, rasul chamber, heated jet spa pool, purifying steam room, sauna, outdoor swimming pool and relaxation area. The best part is that you can use your legacy lifestyle card and earn rewards.
If you want to take your palette on a journey, five hundred is the place to visit. The experience is out of this world and its thee place to dine ;). Vije and I had an amazing time at this restaurant and the dessert just made my year! Its a lovely place to visit on a special occasion. Five hundred celebrates the synergy between food, wine and art.
When Vije and I want to go on a mini holiday or to rejuvenate, we travel to places nearby that we can relax and enjoy some quality time together. Dunkeld Country Estate is situated in the highly sought after town of Dullstroom, the area boasts the spectacular Panorama Route offering magnificent views of remarkable landscapes featuring many breathtaking highlights, including Blyde River Canyon, Echo Caves and Pilgrims Rest. This family orientated resort boasts many well-stocked dams filled with Brown, Rainbow and Golden Trout.
Signature is situated in Morningside Sandton, the restaurant boasts an exquisite menu, with a local and international wine menu for even the most discerning palate. This is my favorite dining spot because personally I think they have an excellent menu to suit different palettes and their desserts are out of this world. You can earn legacy lifestyle rewards when dining at this magnificent restaurant.
7. Magaliesburg
Magaliesburg is a perfect place to get away from the bustle of Johannesburg or Pretoria and within an hour from us. This small village lies at the heart of a beautiful region of mountains, valleys, rivers and indigenous woodland – home to a variety of birds. I love staying or visiting the Valley Lodge & Spa. During our first date, Vije surprised me with a picnic by their riverside and it was just amazing! The view and the setup was so romantic. Cheesy but something worth doing for your partner.
If you are obsessed with chocolate as much as I am then you going to love this place. The Lindt chocolate studios offers a variety of courses where you can learn to make everything from cupcakes to macaroons. The best part is you can even take your child on some courses. This is a fun exciting activity you can do with your partner, friends or family. Vije and I will be visiting soon for a dessert course 🙂 Super excited!
9. Montecasino
Vije and I never visit Montecasino to gamble. We either watch a movie, eat or book a show. There’s so many activities you can do including watching the Madame Zingara After Forever Tour. This is a great show to see with your partner. Food, wine and lots of noise 😉 Housed in one of the last remaining mirror tents, you are invited to suspend all disbelief and realise that even the impossible is, indeed, possible. The mysterious Madame Zingara welcomes you to her forest where legends and folklore come to life; secrets and myths dance in the air and magic becomes tangible. Victoria is the enchantress casting her spell as we begin to believe, even for just a moment, that we are no longer in the now, but in a timeless land – After Forever…
10. Menlyn Park Rooftop Drive-In
If you want to go back in time or watch a movie relaxing under the stars cuddling with your partner then this is perfect. Vije and I love movie dates and the drive-in is perfect to enjoy watching a movie differently.

Lovely list. We would always go to crystal springs – near Pilgrims Rest – in December and we loved it every year. Now you must come to Haenertsburg/Magoebaskloof and I’m sure we’d make your list next year 🙂
Hi Jean, I’d love to review it, Hopefully I will visit soon. Thanks for all the lovely comments.

Copper scrap processing and refining Copper wire is a good conductor of electricity and is commonly used in electrical wiring. However, it is not suitable for use as a fuse wire because of its low resistance. A fuse wire is designed to act as a circuit protection device by melting and breaking the circuit if too much current flows through it. This helps prevent damage to the electrical equipment and also prevents the risk of fires or electrocution. The resistance of the wire decides the amount of current that flows through it. A copper wire with low resistance would not be suitable as a fuse wire because it would require an excessive amount of current to melt it. This could cause damage to the electrical equipment or allow too much current to flow, leading to a fire hazard. In contrast, typical fuse wires are made from materials with relatively higher resistance, such as nickel, tin, or lead. These materials are chosen because of their low melting point and high resistance, which allows them to melt and break the circuit when too much current flows through them, thereby protecting the equipment and the user from any harm. Therefore, it is important to use the appropriate type of fuse wire based on its electrical properties. Using a copper wire as a fuse wire could be dangerous and result in damage to the equipment or injury to the user Scrap metal reclaim Copper scrap reception Copper scrap collection service Copper recycling certifications Scrap copper inspection Scrap metal resource recovery
Scrap copper trade Copper is a soft, malleable, and ductile metal that exhibits excellent thermal and electrical conductivity. It is a popular choice for electrical wiring and electronic components due to its ability to efficiently conduct electricity and heat. Copper has a reddish-orange color and a metallic luster. The atomic number of copper is 29, and it has a density of 8.96 grams per cubic centimeter. Its melting point is 1,984В°F (1,085В°C), and its boiling point is 5,301В°F (2,927В°C). Copper is an abundant element and is typically found in the Earth’s crust as copper sulfides and oxides. Copper is highly resistant to corrosion and can form a protective layer of copper oxide on its surface. This property makes copper suitable for use in various applications, including plumbing, roofing, and construction. Copper is also a vital nutrient for many living organisms and is essential for the proper functioning of enzymes in the human body. However, excessive copper intake can be harmful to human health, leading to copper toxicity. Copper has been used for thousands of years, with some of the earliest evidence of copper tools dating back to 5,500 BC. Ancient civilizations, such as the Egyptians and the Romans, used copper for coins, weapons, and jewelry. Today, copper is still widely used in various industries, including electronics, construction, transportation, and telecommunications. It is also used in the manufacturing of brass, bronze, and other alloys. In addition to its industrial applications, copper is also valued for its aesthetic qualities and is used in art and architecture. Copper’s unique color and patina make it a popular choice for decorative pieces, such as sculptures and home decor. In conclusion, copper is a versatile metal with unique properties that make it valuable in various applications. Its high conductivity, resistance to corrosion, and aesthetic appeal make it a popular material for use in many industries.
