The Rand show is on at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec.
Make sure you visit the show before it ends on the 23rd April because there’s just so much to see and do there!
My husband, Vije and I decided to take the kids on Sunday to explore the stalls, shop a little and check out what’s new.
The big standout at this year’s show was the Danone Frozen Yoghurt World. It’s something new in South Africa but I can tell that it is going to be a huge hit!
This magical place is a celebration of the Disney’s World of Dreams and the goodness of Danone Yoghurt bringing joy and smiles to the faces of children – and parents alike. Inspired by the Characters of the Danone Disney range, the team has created a Frozen world of delight.
There are tons of cool snow adventures to look forward to at the #DanoneFrozenBar at this year’s Rand Show. The excitement of the Danone Frozen World experience includes; snow tubing on the real snow ramp, snowman building and snow games in the real snow play area, frozen yoghurt popsicles, and lots of family photo opportunities from the life-size snow globe to the ‘King of the Castle’ photo booth.
Kiaan had the best time! It was the first time he experienced “snow” and to be honest, he didn’t want to leave! Kitana was so fascinated with the entire setup especially the #DanoneFrozenBar and asked me if Elsa would make an appearance. Even though Elsa didn’t make an appearance there was so much to do that could keep the little ones busy for a good one hour.
What you can do at the Danone Frozen Yoghurt World at the Rand Show:
Snow Tubing
A highlight of this winter playground is the Danone Disney snow-tubing slope; a six-metre-high snow ramp covered in 20 centimetres of real snow. Here you and the kids can grab a snow tube and then “let it go…” all the way down 30 metres of snow sliding fun.
#DanoneFrozenBar
Families can enjoy a Danone Frozen Yoghurt Popsicle and see how easy it is to make your own healthy and delicious Popsicle to add cool, delicious and nutritious fun to any home occasion.
Snow Play Area
Grab your mittens, dust off your beanies and head over to the snow play area. It’s the perfect place to practice your snowman-building skills, make snow castles or just enjoying the crunch of real snow beneath your feet.
‘Cool’ Photo Opportunities
Snow in Jozi? In April? We know! Incredible. A few photos opportunities are definitely in order. The Danone Frozen Yoghurt World has created a fairytale castle that doubles up as a giant doll’s house: just right for a quick photo before it’s playtime with the castle toys and dolls. You can also climb inside the giant Danone Disney snow globe and be the star of your own winter wonderland.
Snap and share your pictures on Twitter or Instagram using the #DanoneFrozenBar hashtag and the brand will print your pictures for you to take home, making sure to freeze your memories in time.
But that’s not all! At the show, you will be given a sample pack of delicious yoghurt to take home.
The Danone Disney Yoghurt range for kids has no artificial colourants or flavourants, has regulated low sugar levels with added vitamins B12 and D, making it a smart and healthy in-between meal snack for your toddlers and tweens. Vitamin B12 helps with energy production and maintains a healthy digestive system while the added Vitamin D helps maintain healthy bones, teeth, and immune systems.
You can enter the “How to make your own Frozen popsicle at home” competition on social media and stand a chance to win a R2000 Danone Disney hamper!
How to enter:
1. Make your own popsicles with Danone Disney Yoghurt.
2. Share your picture or short video to the Danone Instagram or Facebook page.

Copper scrap stock management Copper has been a valuable and widely used metal for thousands of years. It has been used in everything from ancient weapons and tools to modern electronics and renewable energy technologies. As we move towards a more sustainable future, copper is becoming an increasingly important metal for a number of reasons. One of the primary reasons why copper is considered a metal of the future is its use in renewable energy technologies. Copper is used in solar panels, wind turbines, and electric vehicles. In fact, the amount of copper used in electric vehicles is significantly higher than in traditional gasoline-powered cars. This is because copper is an excellent conductor of electricity and is needed to make the motors and batteries that power electric vehicles. Copper is also a key component in the development and deployment of energy storage systems. As we shift towards a more decentralized energy system, energy storage technologies like batteries and pumped hydro storage will become increasingly essential. Copper is needed to make the wiring, connectors, and electrodes that make up these systems. In addition to its use in renewable energy technologies, copper is also an important metal in the construction industry. Copper is often used in plumbing systems, roofing, and electrical wiring. It is also a popular choice for architectural accents and decorative elements. One of the unique properties of copper is that it is fully recyclable. This means that when copper products reach the end of their useful life, they can be melted down and reused indefinitely. Recycling copper requires up to 85% less energy than mining and refining new copper, making it an economically and environmentally sustainable choice. Despite its many benefits, there are some challenges associated with the mining and production of copper. Mining can have a significant impact on the environment, particularly if it is not done responsibly. In addition, copper prices can be volatile, making it difficult for producers to plan and invest in new projects. Despite these challenges, the future of copper looks bright. As we move towards a more sustainable and electrified future, copper will play an increasingly crucial role in powering our homes, transportation, and businesses. Its versatility, durability, and recyclability make it an invaluable metal for the 21st century and beyond Scrap metal sustainability Copper scrap value Integrated copper recycling Copper scrap reclaiming Recycled copper materials Industrial metal waste
