Every South African has that special spot in our beautiful country that captures the spirit of South Africa for them. Now Hasbro, one of the world’s largest toy, game and entertainment experience companies, is giving you the chance to get your favourite South African location, street attraction or destination on board and be part of Monopoly history – be it a beach, your chosen shopping mall or where you met the love of your life.
For the past 15 years numerous regional country versions of Monopoly have been produced and to date the game is licensed in 103 countries, with South Africa being the latest addition. Monopoly Mzansi, a localised South African edition, is set to be available in-store by the end of the year. What makes this edition exciting is that South Africans have the opportunity to take part in the location selection process and decide which recognisable locations they want to appear on the board by voting for their choice online or on mobile at www.monopolymzansi.co.za
“South Africans are known for their ‘gees’ and pride in their country. Which is why we are extremely excited about the upcoming launch of Monopoly Mzansi and encourage all South Africans to really make this version of Monopoly their own and vote. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get all the streets, places and tourist attractions that make up the essence of South Africa, from Vilakazi Street to The Big Hole, on board. Fans can explore the nominated Monopoly Mzansi locations online and then vote for their favourite.
Share your vote so your friends get a say as well,” says Siphiwe Thabethe, country marketing manager for Hasbro South Africa.
Capetonians love their mountain, and they should it is one of the worlds new 7 wonders of nature, but this is an opportunity for Durbanites to cast their vote – do you want so see the Golden Mile on the board? Joburgers, is Nelson Mandela Square going to be the Monopoly Mzansi shopping destination of choice for all of SA? Show how much you love your city and vote to make sure that your favourite locations make it onto the final board!
Fans have an opportunity to vote once a day, but may return the following day to cast another vote, which does not necessarily have to be the same as the previous day’s vote. Fans also have the option to share their vote on Facebook and twitter with the #votemonopolymzansi to encourage more South Africans to vote. You can also keep track of your favorite locations standing on our interactive leader board on our web and mobisite.
“Today tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the world and South Africa is without a doubt one of the greatest destinations to visit. Therefore, supporting localised initiatives such as Monopoly Mzansi that showcase our rich culture and heritage, is the perfect way to drive tourism, not just internationally but also locally. Monopoly Mzansi is a great opportunity to build nation pride and to highlight that South Africa has countless tourist experiences to be discovered that we hope will encourage local tourism support, “says Margie Whitehouse, CMO of South African Tourism.
Voting will be opened till 31st of March. The final game will include 22 streets or places plus four transport hubs, so don’t miss your chance to help create something that will change the gaming scene in SA.

That is so cool that they are giving people a chance to help pick the locations that are going into the game. I love that they are taking people’s feedback like that.

Monopoly is one of our favorite games. It has been a game that has been there for generations of kids to play. I like it because it teaches money skills, negotiation, buying/selling, and other critical thinking skills.

Copper alloy scrap Copper has been the preferred choice for electrical connectors for many years now, and for good reason. There are a variety of factors that make copper the best choice for these applications. Firstly, copper has excellent electrical conductivity. It is a highly conductive metal that allows electrical signals to pass through with very little resistance. This is important because any resistance in a connection can produce heat and reduce the efficiency of the electrical system. Copper is also a highly ductile and malleable metal, which means that it can be easily formed into various shapes and sizes to suit different connection needs. Secondly, copper is very durable and resistant to corrosion. When exposed to air, copper develops a layer of oxide that protects it from further corrosion. This makes copper ideal for use in outdoor or harsh environments, as it will resist damage from moisture and other weather elements. Additionally, copper is able to withstand high temperatures without melting or degrading, further adding to its durability. Thirdly, copper is readily available and relatively low-cost. Copper is one of the most abundant metals in the Earth’s crust, and its widespread use in electrical applications has made it a highly accessible metal. This makes it an economical choice for electrical connectors, as it is affordable and readily available in large quantities. Lastly, copper is easy to work with. It can be easily soldered, crimped, or welded to create secure and reliable connections. Its flexibility also allows it to be easily bent or molded into different shapes and configurations, which is important when connecting components that may require a specific shape or angle. Overall, copper’s superior electrical conductivity, durability, corrosion resistance, availability and ease of use make it the best choice for electrical connectors Metal scrap procurement Pollution control in copper recycling Copper scrap reception Copper hydroxide recycling Copper scrap market transparency Metal waste reclaiming yard
Industrial copper recycling capabilities Copper has been used by humans for thousands of years, dating back to the ancient Egyptians who utilized the metal for tools, weapons, and even jewelry. The metal was also used by the Greeks and Romans, who recognized its valuable properties and began to mine it in larger quantities. Copper alloys such as bronze and brass were also created during this time period. In the Middle Ages, copper continued to be highly valued and was used to make various objects including church bells, cannon barrels, and ornate sculptures. Renaissance artists like Michelangelo used copper in their works, including the famous statue of David. During the industrial revolution, the demand for copper increased greatly as it became a critical component in the production of telegraph wire, electrical power cables, and plumbing pipes. Today, copper is still widely used in these applications as well as in various household items like cookware, roofing materials, and coins. Despite its longevity as a useful material, there are also downsides to the use of copper. The mining and extraction of copper can be environmentally damaging, and copper pipes in homes can eventually lead to contamination of drinking water if not properly maintained.
