How many times a day do you say: “Have you washed your hands yet?”
My daughter just turned 3 and I’m still singing these words and I think I will continue until she’s finally at that age where she can do it on her own. I’m always explaining to her when we need to wash our hands and why. Sometimes she will come up to me and say: “Mommy, lets wash my hands.”
It’s important for us moms to wash our hands with our kids before meals, after they play, after using the bathroom and after sneezing, for at least 40 seconds to a minute. Remember they do what we do – not just what we say…
Let hand washing become a fun and an enjoyable experience for your little ones so you can spend more time bonding and less time worrying.
10 Hand Washing tricks for your child:
1. Create a routine
Let hand washing become routine, especially after participating in certain activities. Explain to them why and when they would need to wash their hands. Example: when touching an animal, blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing into your hands.
2. Set up a washing station
If you have a toddler, get a stepping stool. I’ve got the tummy tub one which can also be used as a potty trainer. Get a “special” towel which is reachable and a hand wash within reach – I prefer the Dettol No-Touch Automatic Hand Wash Dispenser.
3. Demonstrate how to wash your hands
4. Try creating “Glitter” Germs
This is a great way to teach kids about Germs and how it can easily be spread. Pour glitter on your kid’s hands, pour some water over to wash and let them wipe their hands with a towel. Afterwards explain to them how some germs still remain if their hands are not washed properly.
5. Sing fun songs while you washing hands
There’s lots of fun songs available on the internet like:
Twinkle, twinkle little star.
Look how clean my two hands are.
Soap and water, wash and scrub.
Get those germs off rub-a-dub.
Twinkle, twinkle little star.
Look how clean my two hands are.
OR you can just create your own like we did. 😉
Our version of Ice Ice Baby:
Wash Wash Wash your hands…
Stop. And think about your hygiene.
Wash your hands and make them squeaky clean.

With my boys we always did the ten Mississippi rule. Whenever they wash, I have them count out ten seconds before they can stop 🙂
I love these tricks! Anything that can get children of all ages to wash their hands, is a bonus! It is amazing how many people don’t!
Indeed it is important to teach the kids the value of handwashing. I agree with using an automatic dispenser. I will check Dettol out. Looks like a great product.
I used to tell my kids that some people poop and don’t wash their hands, so if they didn’t wash their hands, they could get poop in their mouths. Worked like a charm!
Such a great and useful post for me as a parent, I’m going to try your tips. Thanks! 😀
I am with you when you said that kids don’t like to be told what to do because they want to know why you are telling them to do so. I an so thankful that my girls love to wash their hands all the time.
My son used to always “forget” to wash his hands too. These products would be a great thing to bring with you when we are out.
I habe to constantly tell my 4 year old to wash his hands constantly. I want one of the automatic hand soap dispensers for my kitchen. Im sure the hand pump gets kinda icky in the kitchen if you know what I mean. I’ll have to grab one next time I’m at the store.
I love the automatic soap dispenser. I really need one here. The biggest thing for me with hand washing is doing it after being bathroom, and then after touching anything gross. I’m kind of a ‘some germs will make you stronger’ type. As I really don’t want to make the kids ‘live in a bubble’ and not grow immunities.
These tricks are great! It can be so tough to get them to wash their hands the right way. I have found using special towels and soaps that are for “kids only” definitely can make it more fun.
My parents were such sticklers about hand washing, and rightfully so. They even asked to smell my hands as a kid to make sure. Now I’m the same way with my nephews -and I can TOTALLY tell when they’re lying lol.
One of these days I’m going to count how many times I wash my hands while cooking – it’s a lot! And sometimes I catch myself humming the Birthday song while washing away. All of these featured products definitely come in handy when teaching kids to wash their hands.
Teaching our children to wash hands at an early age is very important. You are doing a grweeat job!
Setting an example is definitely one great way to teach them. I’ve taught my son about how important washing the hands is at an early age. He’s now a tween and never forgets to wash his hands.
Such perfect time reading this! My daughter starts school next week and ughh… Germs are everywhere. Need to teach her to wash her hands better!
Great ideas! Love the “tricks” as handwashing is so important and most kids would rather skip it. I still have to remind my 8-year-old to wash his hands all the time.

Copper scrap brokerage Copper has been used by humans for thousands of years for its versatile properties and aesthetic appeal. In the modern era, copper has become increasingly popular in building and home decor primarily for its unique patina that changes over time. Copper has been used in various forms in architecture for centuries, from its use in ancient structures like the Parthenon in Greece to more modern buildings like the Chrysler Building in New York City. Copper has proven its durability and resistance to corrosion, making it an excellent choice for roofing, gutters, and downspouts. Copper can increase a building’s energy efficiency, as it is a good conductor of heat and can help regulate temperatures. Copper also has good sound-dampening properties, making it ideal for noise reduction in busy areas. In home decor, copper has gained popularity for its warm, metallic finish that adds a touch of glamor to any space. Copper home accessories like lamps, mirrors, and art pieces come in a wide variety of styles and add an elegant and sophisticated feel to any room. Copper cookware has also come back into fashion, as it is durable, conducts heat well, and gives any kitchen a classic look. One of the most appealing things about copper is the way it ages over time. As copper is exposed to air and moisture, it develops a patina that is unique to each piece. This natural aging process is highly sought after in both architecture and home decor. The patina ranges from a bright, shiny copper color to a rich, earthy brown or green. Many people find the natural patina to be beautiful and prefer not to polish or clean their copper pieces, so that they can enjoy the unique patina that develops over time. In conclusion, copper has a rich history in building and home decor. Its versatility and exceptional performance in various applications, combined with its beauty and aging process, make it a timeless material. Whether utilized in a large commercial building or a small home decor piece, copper can add a touch of elegance and style to any setting Metal scrap reprocessing Copper scrap insurance Copper recycling center Copper recycling best practices Copper scrap recycling rates Scrap metal relocation and recycling
Copper scrap prices Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as an exciting class of materials for various industrially important applications. In recent years, MOFs have gained considerable attention for their potential in catalysis, particularly in the conversion of CO2 to valuable chemicals such as ethanol. However, achieving high selectivity and activity for CO2 reduction reactions remains a major challenge. Recently, a promising approach has been proposed to address this challenge. It involves the design of MOFs that contain cooperative copper centres. These centres consist of two or more copper ions that are linked by organic ligands. The cooperative effect of these copper centres can lead to the formation of highly active and selective sites for CO2 reduction reactions. One such example is the MOF HKUST-1 (Cu3(BTC)2, where BTC is benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate), which contains di-copper paddlewheel clusters. These paddlewheel clusters are connected by BTC linkers to form a three-dimensional framework. The framework contains a large number of open metal sites, which can act as active sites for CO2 reduction. In recent experiments, it was found that HKUST-1 exhibited high selectivity for the conversion of CO2 to ethanol under mild reaction conditions. This selectivity was attributed to the cooperative effect of the di-copper paddlewheel clusters. Specifically, the presence of two copper ions allowed for the formation of a copper-carboxylate intermediate, which could be readily reduced to ethanol. Furthermore, it was found that the selectivity could be further enhanced by tuning the reaction conditions and the reaction medium. For example, increasing the concentration of water in the reaction medium led to higher selectivity for ethanol, while decreasing the temperature resulted in higher selectivity for methanol. Overall, these findings demonstrate the potential of MOFs with cooperative copper centres for selective CO2 reduction. Further studies are needed to optimize the design of these materials and to understand the underlying reaction mechanisms. However, this approach holds great promise for the sustainable production of valuable chemicals from greenhouse gases Scrap metal reutilization center Copper shredding technology Industrial Copper scrap Copper scrap brokerage Copper scrap brokerage Metal waste recovery operations
